Reflection Paper
During my semester in Principles of Management, I have truly learned a lot. I was apprehensive about taking the course with Professor White. Mainly because it didn’t require studying, which was taboo to me. My intensions this semester were to reach out to possible mentors, change my “laid back” attitude, and to find the perfect summer internship. I have found so many mentors at different healthcare facilities from Capital Regional Medical, Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare, and Jackson Memorial Healthcare.
Key elements that I can take with me for the rest of my life would be networking, speaking with my professors more, reaching out to more mentors, and researching my major more. I have learned so much this semester in Principles of Management. As far as my profession, I have gained an interest in Risk Management. In the future, I plan to get a certification in Risk Management and pursue it as a career. The personal lessons that I have learned were the importance of networking, setting myself aside from others, and researching my major.
I am so glad that I chose to enroll in Professor White’s course because I really challenged myself to reach all of goals that I created in the beginning of the semester. My experience has reflected my Intensions Paper tremendously. I would recommend this course to any other student. I would advise students to learn more about their majors outside of school, networking, and reaching out to professors. From creating a website, to networking, conducting a professional interview, and researching my major, this course has helped me so much!
